We host many different occasions, not just weddings here.
It was David & Pauline’s golden wedding anniversary, which is 50 years of marriage.
They wanted to celebrate this at Darrington golf club with their family and friends.
Quite a bit of planning went into this day as they wanted it to be perfect.
The room was decorated with white chair covers and linen, with a gold sash and golden anniversary sequins and confetti for the tables. In the centre was a simple vase with a floral arrangement.
A few children were attending so they provided party garden games to keep them entertained.
The guests were greeted with an open bar, originally David and Pauline was going to have a drinks reception but was unsure what their guests would prefer so they decided on an open bar so the guests had free range to what drink they desired.
We created a bespoke menu with the chef’s with David & Pauline’s favourite foods, they had a few guest travelling from afar so they wanted to make sure that there was a nice variety of foods to cater for them.
House beef burgers in fresh bread cakes and burger relish, Cumberland sausages, Ham Joint, chef’s homemade coleslaw, dressed mixed leaf salad, chicken and bacon mayonnaise pasta, chicken fillets, mixed loaded potato skins with a variety of fillings such as cheese and pickle, cheese and bacon, ham and cheese pancakes and plenty of chips.
David and Pauline also wanted desserts, our pastry chef Julie made chocolate brownie which was dusted in gold edible glitter, a classic Victoria sponge decorated with fresh strawberries and the amazing meringue Towers decorated with fresh berries, rose water cream, rose petals and glitter. These desserts look truly amazing.
All the guests had an amazing time and the food went down a treat.

We are emailing to express our thanks and gratitude to all your staff for helping to make our special day such a great success.
Very special thanks are due to Katie who is a real gem. Her obvious organising ability, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, attentiveness and sheer hard work are rarely seen these days and she ensured that everything went without a hitch. An example of her going the extra mile was her arranging for the “50” and “Happy Anniversary” foil on the tables, which nicely set the scene.
We must also say that the food was well up to the standard we previously found at your restaurant, having done a couple of “recces” late last year. Clearly you have a very capable and experienced chef and dessert maker, rather than some “food assemblers” which seems to have become the norm at many venues.
We have friends and family in Leeds who we regularly meet half way for get togethers and having struck gold we know we can rely on the quality and ambience of your excellent venue. We will be seeing you again and we won’t be waiting until our 60th!
No doubt you will ensure that our appreciation is passed on to everybody involved on the day.
